The truth is, although they have a high fat content, they are the type of fats that help destroy disease-causing organisms, protecting the body from infection.

Coconuts are full of healthy nutrients and are rich in fibre. They contain various vitamins such as C, E, B1, B3, B5 and B6, along with minerals such as sodium, calcium, iron, magnesium and phosphorous.

Choosing good quality coconut ingredients is very important, as many tins found in supermarkets lack these micro nutrients.

Is coconut milk dairy free?

Coconut milk is dairy free, but still offers the same creaminess and sweetness that you can expect from cow’s milk.

Coconut milk and cream are fantastic alternative when creating creamy drinks, desserts and sauces. Ideal for those with a dairy intolerance or allergy.

The differences between coconut milk and coconut cream

The main difference between coconut milk and coconut cream is the amount of water used compared to shredded coconut.

Coconut milk is traditionally one-part water with one-part coconut, whereas cream is four parts coconut and one-part water.

Coconut cream is thicker and can be used as a substitute for coconut milk, however it may need diluting with water for a thinner consistency.

Are monkeys used to help harvest coconut ingredients?
